Mr. Gerry Lee Gunter, age 53, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the local hospital.  Gerry was born December 20, 1968, in Dalton, Georgia.

Gerry was a jokester and loved having a good time. He was always willing to help anyone in need and could fix most anything.  He was extremely protective of his wife, children, grandchildren, and his parents. He called and checked on his mother twice a day.

Gerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Della Gunter, Frank and Betty Cross and his mother-in-law, Louise Oliver.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart, Pam Gunter of the residence and celebrated their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary, November 22, 2021; daughters and sons-in-law, Courtney and Kevin Garrett, Daphne and Anson High; grandchildren, Brevin Gunter, Ashton High, Anslei High, Talon Garrett and Tucker Garrett; parents, Johnny and Mildred Gunter all of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny "Scooter" and Paige Gunter of Cleveland, TN; aunt, Linda Gunter of Dalton, GA; several other aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Gerry Lee Gunter will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Brother Brandan Chastine officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Brevin Gunter, Lamar Hance, Kevin Arnold, Bobby Johnson, David Gill and Tim Welch honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. Monday until the service time.
