Ms. Geraldine Irene Martin, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, January 17, 2014 at the Quinton Memorial Health Care. Jerry was born April 1, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan, a daughter of the late Ezra John and Bessie Viola Jersey Rayment. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine Sue Martin, a grandson, Brian Martin, her sister, Betty Lynn and the father of her children, C.W. Martin. Jerry was a member of Olivia Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Newton of Dalton, GA, Sueanne Hernandez of Jamestown, TN, and Debbie and Kenneth Mitchell of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Curtis Martin, Kevin and Tonya Martin, Theresa Denton, Nathan Allen, Stacey and Lalo Gallegos; twelve great-grandchildren.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Geraldine "Jerry" Martin will be Monday, January 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bruce Beach officiating. She will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
