Mr. Gerald Dean Short, age 70 of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, January 13, 2014 at his residence. Gerald was born June 9, 1943 in Oregon City, Oregon, a son of the late Marion Allen and Tunabelle Hatfield Short. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence Short, Virgil Short, Clarence Hatfield, Joe Payne, sisters, Ruby Wilson, Dollie Shipp, Lillian Needham, Lily Lowell, Genevieve Panell, Marie Warren, Jennell Emery.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rena Kay Short of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Gerald Allen and Deborah Short of Oklahoma, Harold Randall Short of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters, Deborah Short, Shelley D. Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA, son in law Scott Hall of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Ellen Short of Sevierville, TN, Dale and Carol Short of Eidson, TN; grandchildren, Virginia, Vernon, Seth, Alex, Justin, Joseph, Rebekah, Faith and Scottie and future grandson Bently Blalock ; nieces and nephews.

At Gerald's requests no services will be held at this time.
