IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Milburn
Dugger
February 19, 1951 – May 19, 2024
George Milburn Dugger, age 73, of Dalton, GA, passed away on May 19, 2024, in Calhoun, GA from cancer. Born on February 19, 1951, he was a veteran of the United States Navy. Whether or not he was proud of this fact depended on his mood and the current state of political affairs.
A lover of all things mechanical and fishing, George's career with mechanics, boats and fishing tournaments was a testament to his passion. He enjoyed dismantling objects, occasionally reassembling them, losing tools, and justifying missing parts lying around as completely unnecessary. His fishing tales often grew in size with each retelling.
His hobbies include watching college football (an avid, lifetime TN Vols fan he's the primary reason his daughter yell "Go Dawgs! Sic 'em!" every game day), NASCAR (Raise Hell and Praise Dale), golfing and beer tasting.
George is survived by his daughter, Carrie Ann Wilson, his grandchildren Sterling and Storm Wilson, two brothers, Kenneth and David Dugger, sister Frances, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lema and Floyd Dugger, and nephews Jason and Tony Dugger.
In accordance with George's wishes, who detested funerals and believed they were a total waste of time, no services will be held. Instead he will be cremated and his ashes scattered at his favorite fishing hole.
For those wishing to honor his memory and to send him off to his next adventure, wherever that may be, should do so by either toasting him with their favorite drink, smokin 'em if they got 'em, spending the day fishing, or all three.
Rest in peace, George Milburn Dugger.
