IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Mithcell
Clark
January 11, 1930 – October 14, 2013
Mr. George Mitchell Clark, age 83, of Dawnville Community in Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday October 14, 2013 at his home. George was born January 12, 1930, in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Mitchell Clark, his mother and step-father, Minnie Staten and Emerson Barrett, a brother, C.M. Clark and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Nora Akins. George worked for over thirty years at Cook and Ingle Concrete Company and in his later years drove a school bus for Whitfield County Schools. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church for over fifty years and was a deacon at Maddox Chapel Baptist Church and Harmony Baptist Church for over sixty years. George loved to spend many hours a week in his garden grow fruits and vegetables to be canned and frozen by his wife. He was always sharing his extra vegetables with relatives, neighbors, and his many friends from church. If George was not working in his garden you could find him doing some type of yard work or completing his daily cleaning chores with his loving wife Altha. George had to always be active doing something, fixing something, or tinkering with about anything. You would not find him sitting idle. George was also very passionate in his support of his church, Harmony Baptist. He took great pride and pleasure in his support of all church activities and events. If Harmony's doors were open you could always count on George being in attendance. George's family, friends, and neighbors will miss him dearly.
