Mrs. Geneva Land Barnett, age 82, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, November 10, 2015, at her residence. Geneva was born December 21, 1932, in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late William Arthur and Mary Ann Woody Land. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Marvin, Arvil, Arey, Ernest, Arnold, Melvin, and William Land; sisters Lethia Land, Ethel Land, Gertrude Greeson, and Beulah Ghorley.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael David and Kimberly Rae Barnett of Thailand; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Lynn and Beltane Harrigan of the Virgin Islands; sisters Delia Wimpy and Pauline Jones of Dalton, GA; grandchildren David and Katelyn Barnett, Kennedy and Jamie Harrigan; and several nieces and nephews.
The life celebration service for Mrs. Geneva Land Barnett will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, in the Ponders Melrose Chapel. The Reverend Michael Barnett will be officiating. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens with Mike Barnett, David Duckworth, Beltane Harrigan, Jamie Harrigan, Kennedy Harrigan and Robert Jones serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015.
