Mr. Gene Arvil Parsons, age 73 of Ringgold, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday August 26, 2015 at his residence. Gene was born December 21, 1941 in Mt. City, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father, Zack Parsons, mother, Buna Treadaway. He is survived by his wife, Tina Parsons of Ringgold, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee Parsons and Kathy Mashburn, Ricky and Sharon Parsons of Dalton, GA, Andrew and Brittany Parsons of Ringgold, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Regina Farmer and Jeff Tipton of Ellijay, GA, Laurel and Chris Petty of Ringgold, GA; two brothers; two sisters; special friend, General Dent Myers of Kennesaw, GA; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gene Arvil Parsons will be held Friday August 28, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Dwight Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Chris Petty, Andrew Parsons, Tanner Gregory, Jeff Tipton, Shannon Bowling and Ricky Parsons serving as pallbearers.
