Mr. Garry Thomas Sanford, age 68, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the local hospital. He was born April 11, 1950 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Wilmer Thomas and Barbara Jean Faith Sanford.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Brooke and Jimmy Hedden of Dalton, GA, Davetta Sanford Porter of Ashville, NC; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Mervin Greene of Resaca, GA, Deborah Sexton of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Monica Jones of Clarksville, TN, Matthew Jones of Dalton, GA, Aaron Porter of Greensboro, NC, Sophie Porter of Ashville, NC; great grandchild, Avin Boone; several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate the life of Mr. Garry Thomas Sanford the family will receive friends at the Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 5, 2019. Followed by a private family service.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 in honor of Sgt. Garry Sanford.
