IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fronie Lavona
Mitchell
July 10, 1943 – February 7, 2017
Mrs. Fronie Lavona Mitchell, age 73, of Brandon, Mississippi, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital.
Fronie was born on July 10, 1943 in Neshoba County, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Anderson and Nellie Mae Nowell Adcock. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lounez Whinery and brothers, Carnell, Carnett and Charles Adcock.
She was a graduate of Neshoba Central High School in Philadelphia, MS. She was married to Billy R. Mitchell on February 16, 1963. She was a resident of Brandon, MS, since 2005 and was a former resident of Dalton, GA. Fronie was member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS, and was a homemaker.
She fought the good fight and praised the Lord daily. She is now with her heavenly father and loved ones that went before her. We in our flesh will miss her daily, but we take comfort in knowing she is with our Savior. She was a sassy, spunky, and beautiful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her husband of almost fifty-four years, Billy R. Mitchell of Brandon, MS; children, Ray and Keshia Mitchell of Rydal, GA, Renea and Billy O'Bryan of Dalton, GA; sisters, Ruthie and Johnny Jones of Pascagoula, MS, Margie Dunn of Dalton, GA, Bobbie Jones of Philadelphia, MS, and Mary Dyess of Helena, MS; brothers, Grady and Wilma Adcock of Hot Springs, AR, J.D. and Wyvonne Adcock of Canton, MS, and Rupert and Irene Adcock of Newton, MS; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Fronie Lavona Mitchell will be held Saturday morning, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Hal Thompson and Reverend Jimmy Talley officiating. She will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
