Mr. Fred Clenton Ponder, age 79 of Tate, GA passed on Saturday May 4 ^th , 2019 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA. Born April 11 ^th , 1940 to his late parents J.S. & Iola (White) Ponder in Ellijay, GA. Fred was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for 62 years and the Blaine Masonic Lodge #534 F&AM for 54 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.S. "Jay" & Iola Ponder and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene Godfrey and Sharlene Ponder.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday May 7 ^th , 2019 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Hagin, Rev. Roger Burgess and Rev. Brondy Davis officiating. Music and singing will be by the Clayton Family and Mrs. Kayla Easley. Masonic Rites will be performed by the Blaine Masonic Lodge # 534 F&AM. Graveside interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Randy Ponder, Brent Ponder, Jake Ponder, Chris Crump, Freddy Vick and Jason Williams serving as pallbearers, honorary pallbearers will be James Morris and T.O. Carroll.

Mr. Ponder is survived by his wife of 12 years, Ruby Ryder Ponder of Tate, GA, son, Danny Ryder of Tate, GA, sisters & brother-in-law, Vera & Clyde Beal, Patsy Godfrey, brother, Randall Ponder all of Ellijay, GA, several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family is receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday May 6 ^th from 10:00am until 9:00pm and again on Tuesday May 7 ^th , from 9:00am until the funeral hour at 2:00pm. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery fund in care of Randy Ponder at 156 Mt. Pisgah Drive Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mr. Ponder.
