Mr. Franklin Darnell Chastain, age 79, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life, Sunday January 29, 2017 at his home. Frank was born July 29, 1937 in Gordon County, Georgia, a son of the late William Floyd and Pemmie Lou Carroll Chastain. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Junior Chastain and Kenneth Chastain and sisters, Thelma Jones, Marie Pankey and Rethal Dale. Frank was a member and deacon at Crossroads Baptist Church in Gilmer County, Georgia, for over thirty years.

Frank is survived by his wife, Linda Bramblett Chastain of the home; son, Billy and Wendy Locke of Villa Rica, GA; step-daughters, Melba Sue and Junior Smith of Ellijay, GA, Joan and Ted Davis of Rockmart, GA; sister, Jean Blaylock of Dalton, GA; sisters-in-law, Evelene Shugart and Barbara Bramblett both of Resaca, GA; special nephews and nieces, Robert and Lucille Blaylock of Chatsworth, GA, Darrin Gilbert and Emily Gilbert both of Resaca, GA; several other nieces and nephews and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Frank Chastain will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Chris Chastain, Reverend Billy Dotson and Reverend Eddie Kerr officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Church Cemetery with Billy Locke, Darrin Gilbert, Sandy Bramblett, James Bramblett, Junior Smith and Ted Davis serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
