Mr. Franklin "Edward" Berry Sr, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born September 3, 1937 in Sweetwater, TN, a son of the late Robert Frank and Mamie Powers Berry. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ted Berry, sisters, Barbara Wilson, Ruth Lane.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Ann Berry of the residence; son, Franklin "Frankie" Berry Jr. of Dalton, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Mamie "Penny" and Wayne Harris of Dalton, GA, Sherron Taylor of Cohutta, GA; granddaughter, Zae Taylor of Clarksville, TN; brother, Lloyd Berry of Chicago, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara and Alvin Sledge of Sweetwater, TN, Dorothy and Jeffrey Perian of New Orleans, LA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Franklin Edward Berry Sr. will be held Friday December 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Eugene Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Eli Timms, Tim Timms, Jose Otero, Anthony Rosa, Isai Rojo, and Everardo Rojo serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
