Ms. Frances Elizabeth Whittemore, 75, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life early Saturday morning, May 30, 2020 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.

Frances was born in Trenton, Georgia on February 15, 1945.  She was a daughter of the late Lawrence Smith Whittemore and Ollie Mae Tatum Whittemore.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Whittemore, Rawlan Whittemore, Sadie Whittemore Price, Mary Katherine Poarch, Robert George Whittemore, and Joanne Martin.

Frances was a 1963 graduate of the Red Bud High School.  Prior to retirement she had been employed by the former Cornet Industries as a customer service representative.  When she was able, she would attend at Meadowdale Baptist Church.  She was also a weekly dedicated listener to the Calhoun First Baptist Church Sunday radio program.  Frances will be remembered for her loving and helpful spirit.  She was one of the kindest people you could ever meet but she would be the first to put you in your place with her stern opinion of things.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Phil Ruddell of Calhoun; her brother, Lawrence Whittemore of Florida; many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Frances Whittemore will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 12:00 Noon from the graveside at Chandler Cemetery.  Brother Jason Hawkins will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the graveside.
