Mrs. Frances "Tuffy" Luffman Baggett, age 89, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, February 10, 2025, at Gordon Health Care in Calhoun, Georgia.

Born on June 2, 1935, in Murray County, Georgia, Frances was the beloved daughter of the late Oscar Jefferson and Pearl Mae Springfield Luffman. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of fifty-nine years, J.W. Baggett, who passed on January 11, 2012, as well as her sisters, Thelma Luffman, Jean Meeks, Pauline Martin, Mary Ellen Johnson and Exie Burger, and her brothers, Floyd Lee Luffman, Earl Luffman, and Ed Luffman.

Frances spent her life on a farm, where she embraced both the joys and challenges of rural life. She had a kind and humble spirit, never meeting a stranger and always putting others before herself. Her heart overflowed with love for her family, friends, and anyone in need. Frances was a woman of deep faith and a member of Opportunity Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Lynn Baggett, Anthony and Becky Baggett, and Greg and Sherry Baggett; her sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and C.J. Walls, all of Chatsworth, GA; and her sister-in-law, Geneva Kirby of Dalton, GA. She was a cherished grandmother to Brooke and Randy Cross, Sheena Baggett, Haley Baggett, Shane Baggett, and Derek Cowart. Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren: Chase, Chad, and Braydon (Ellisa) Baggett, Lukas and Brandolyn Alred, Darren Flood, Emaryn Wells, Dolly Cowart, Savannah McGill, Sheera McGill, Saberiel McGill, twins, Emileigh Baggett and Mason Baggett as well as her great-great-grandson, Hudson Baggett. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A service to celebrate Frances' beautiful life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend Jeff Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest alongside her family at Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Cross, Lukas Alred, Derek Cowart, Eric Wells, Braden Cross, and Lloyd Kirby.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
