Mrs. Frances Sharp Dixon, age 88, of Raising Fawn, GA, departed this life, Friday, July 15, 2016 at her home. Frances was born April 9, 1928 in Scottsburg, Virginia, a daughter of the late Spencer and Mozell Buchannon Allen. Frances worked as a nursing assistant for over twenty years at the Hamilton Medical Center and retired from North Park Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in South Boston, VA.

She was preceded in death by her sons, James Allen Sharp and Donald Sharp, Heartsell Dixon, Jack and his wife, Joan Dixon, and daughter, Kathy Dixon and her brother, John Acree Allen;

She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Winfred Dixon of the residence; son, Bobby Sharp of Ringgold, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Lamar Cantrell of Dalton, GA, daughters-in-law, Louise Dixon of Chatsworth, GA, and Nancy Sharp of Calhoun, GA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Frances Sharp Dixon will be held Monday morning, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Darey Kittle and Reverend Lillard Stringer officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Jonathan Sosebee, Lamar Cantrell, Lamar Dixon and Tony Ellis serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
