Mr. Floyd Smith, age 74, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was born October 1, 1948 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Hulen Smith Sr. and Frances Crider Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annette Soi Smith, son, John Eugene Smith, daughter, Brenda Lee Smith White, brothers, Hulen Smith Jr., Edward Smith, James Smith, Marion Smith, JW Smith, sister, Mary Frances Overby. father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur Eugene and Neppie Ruth Payne Soi., brother-in-law, James Soi, Jimmy Soi, sisters-in-law, Barbara Brogdon, Connie Burnecke, Martha Dean Soi, Juanita Burnecke.
He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Messer of Dalton, GA, Christy and Joey Cutrer of Rocky Face, GA; sons, Edward Lamar Smith, Anthony Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Elizabeth "Totsy" Scroggins of Tunnel Hill, GA; girlfriend, Bonnie Barker of Cleveland, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, TW Smith of Rocky Face, GA, Thomas and Chris Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA; Carolyn Smith of Lafayette, GA, Belinda Smith of Dalton, GA; brothers-in-law, Guy Soi, Michael Soi all of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister-in-law, Jeanette Earley of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Alicia, Ashley, Heather, Erica, Brooke, Alex, Johnathan, Jacob, Kyler, Haley, Carley, Kenzie, Trevor, Hannah, Josh, Andy, Gracie, Carly, Maddie, Logan, Corey; sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Floyd Smith will be held, Saturday June 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with Brother Ricky Maddron officiating. Interment will follow the service at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park with Jacob Smith, Kyler Holcomb, Alex Smith, Logan Debity serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
