Mrs. Florence Eller Defore Miller, age 77, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday evening, February 19, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born March 31, 1947 in Dalton, Georgia a daughter of the late Erwin George and Frances Parker Defore. She was also preceded in death by her brothers George Sonny Defore, Leroy Andrew Defore, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John R. and Dorothy Blalock Miller, brothers-in-law, Chester Howard, Gene Chance, sister-in-law, Deborah Defore, nephew Junior Howard, niece Lynn Defore.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Glenn Miller of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Allison Miller of Dalton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jim Pledger of Summerville, GA; brothers, Gary Defore, David Defore of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Howard, Becky Chance of Dalton, GA, JoAnn and Terry Goble of Calhoun, GA, Betty Sue and Richard Mathis of Dalton, GA; Phyllis Defore, and Debbie Defore, both of Dalton; grandchildren, Jacob Dills, Caleb Dills, John Dills, Anna Miller, Emily Elrod; nieces and nephews.

Graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Florence Eller Defore Miller will be held Monday February 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Miller Cemetery with Kennie Goss officiating. Jacob Dills, Caleb Dills, John Dills, Brandon Howard, Glenn Chance and Greg Defore will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
