Mr. Fernando Gonzalez, Jr. , age 40, of Evans, Georgia, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, October 28, 2021 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.  Fernando was born July 21, 1981 in Bay City, Texas.  He was a 2000 graduate of Dalton High School and earned his Associates degree in Dental Assistance at Chattanooga College.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angelica Hurtado Gonzalez; his five year old daughter, Halle Gonzalez and his ten year old son, Bradley Gonzalez all of Evans, GA; parents, Fernando and Maria Rosario Zamora Gonzalez, Sr.; brothers, Oscar Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hilario and Yolanda Hurtado; nieces and nephews, David Gallegos, Kayleen, Itzel and Gigi Gonzalez, Alyssa, Penelope and Scarlett Velasquez, Pablo, Stefano and Vanessa Rodriguez; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Azucena and Pablo Rodriguez, Hortensia and Alfredo Velasquez all of Dalton, GA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, November 2, 2021 at 11: o'clock a.m. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Paul Williams officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Rene Gonzalez, Oscar Gonzalez, Miguel Gallegos, Pablo Rodriguez, Stefano Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez, Jose Salaices, Manuel Hurtado and Samuel Mendez honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until the service hour.
