Mr. Fay West, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in the local hospital. Fay was born November 29, 1941 in Eton, Georgia, a son of the late Charles Edgar and Pearl Sarah Jane Blackwell West.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Darlene "Wormie" Jones and brothers, Glenn West and James West, great grandchildren, Aalliyah Atkins, Jasper Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bowman West of the residence and would have celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary, February 3, 2022; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Wayne and Sandi West of Dalton, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Faye Brown of Cohutta, GA, Rita Lynn and Charles Landers of Gresham, SC, Sherri Elaine West of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Cowart, Brandon Cowart, Starla Hamilton, Daniel Phillips, Destiny Lamb, Johnathon Stafford, Brittany West, Andrea West, Savannah Barnette, Tyler Landers, Payton Jones, Tiffanie Parris, Haley Harris, Logan Biggerstaff and Jordan West; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons on the way; a brother, Billy West.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Fay West will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at The Temple of The Lord Church, (611 S. Green St., Dalton, GA, 30720) with his son, Pastor Johnny West and his nephew, Brother Mark Bowman officiating.  He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with Noah Parris, Jordan West, Travis Horn, Shawn Edwards, Tony Hamilton and Wilbur Bovard honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
