Mrs. Fannie Mae Hooker, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, March 31, 2022, at her residence.

Fannie was born August 21, 1941, in Murray County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Paul Dennis and Mary Jane Powell Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by a son, George Lamar Ridley, sisters, Elizabeth Keener, Clara Jones and Lois Nicholson, brothers, Reverend George Nicholson, John M. Nicholson, Marshall Nicholson, and Wayne Nicholson. Fannie was retired from Collins and Aikman, where she worked for over thirty-five years. She was a member of Cove Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Gene Hooker of the residence and would have celebrated their forty-fifth wedding anniversary on July 1, 2022; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Chavez of Dalton, GA, Betty and Bo Ellis of Middleburg, FL, Tammy Miller of Chatsworth, GA; son and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Hooker, Sara Roper all of Tunnel Hill, GA; brother, Richard Nicholson of Chatsworth, GA; sister, Martha Frances Lawson of Oneida, TN; sisters-in-law, Judy Bryson, Sharon Faye Hall, Joy Martin, Katherine Pelfrey, Lennie Nicholson and Clara Carver all of Dalton, GA, Barbara Nicholson of Chatsworth, GA, Linda Nicholson of Cleveland, TN; brother-in-law, Leonard Keener of Chatsworth, GA; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Fannie Mae Hooker will be held Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bo Carnes officiating. She will be laid to rest at Center Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia with her grandsons, Miguel Carrillo, Tony Ridley, John Banks, Kevin Pintor, Lucas Chavez, Brandon Hooker, and Dylan Ridley honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 10:00 o'clock a.m. Monday until the service hour.
