Mrs. Evelyn Lucille Ball, age 83 of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Saturday December 24, 2016 at her residence. Evelyn was born April 27, 1933 in Resaca, Georgia, a daughter of the late Reverend Lemuel and Dora Parker Gillian. She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Ralph D. Ball and a brother-in-law, Farris Cox. She was a member of the Church of God of the New Testament. Evelyn was a wonderful person, with a gentle spirit who always spoke well of everyone. She loved to read and trying new things.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Phillip Green of Chatsworth, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, David Ball of Chatsworth, GA, Scott and Deborah Ball of Copperhill, TN; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Stephanie and Josh Ray of Cartersville, GA; great-granddaughter, Savannah Ray; sister, Brenda Cox of Dalton, GA; nieces, Karen Cox, Robin Hollinsworth and Candice Ballew; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Ball of Ringgold, Mack and Juanita Ball, Floyd and Peggy Ball all of Dalton, GA; several cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Evelyn L. Ball will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Herman Ledbetter officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until the service hour.
