Ms. Evelyn Elizabeth Adams, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, August 10, 2013 at her home. Evelyn was born May 18, 1933 in Spring Place, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ivena Amos Young, her father and step-mother, George W. and Lee Young, brothers, George W. Young, Jr., Roy Young, Arvil Young.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Ray Townsend, Danny Townsend and Stacy Townsend all of Fairmount, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Phil McEntyre of Fairmount, GA, Diane and Shannon Payne, Vicky Adams all of Calhoun, GA; sisters, Grace Walker of Chatsworth, GA, Barbara Franklin of Dalton, GA, and Betty Jean Temples of Rydal, GA; brother, Arnold Young of Chatsworth, GA; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Ms. Evelyn Adams will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Reverend Delmar Ledford officiating. The family received friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
