On January 28, Eva Mae Jones, 80, of Rydal, GA passed away peacefully in her treasured home, with her family lovingly at her side. While her family is deeply saddened by her loss, they are thankful they had the chance to say goodbye.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Reuben Endel Jones, her parents, John and Ethel Hartsfield, and her siblings, Charlotte Wooten, Arlissa Moss, Mary Simpson, John Hartsfield, Trudy White, David Hartsfield, Hubert Hartsfield, Max Hartsfield, and Tony Hartsfield.

Eva was born on June 3, 1943, in Dalton. She graduated from Pine Log High School, married Reuben, and they had two daughters. Working tirelessly, Eva started the family tradition of becoming a rural mail carrier and took great joy in delivering mail to her customers on her route in Adairsville, GA, but her true love was her family and friends, making everyone feel welcome in her home. Her kindness was reflected in her hospitality and her cooking was renowned. She was cherished by her family and friends, always being caring and supportive. In addition to her love of reading, one of her greatest joys was her time spent with her adored great-granddaughter, Evalynn. As a compassionate animal lover, Eva's beloved dogs were part of her family. She was of the Methodist faith.

Eva is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Hope and Bob Walker and Faith and Terry Olson; Her grandchildren, spouses, and great grandchildren, Garrett and McKenzie, and Evalynn Alford; Austin Cagle; Dusty and Tiffany Harrison, Ethen and Allee; Danielle and Jared Childers, Eli and Annistyn; Joshua and Ashley Walker, Rileigh, Emarie, and Casey; Anthony and Shalease Olson; Sister-in-law Sally Jones; and Sisters, Ruby Biddy and Gladys Johnson.

Please join us at Pine Log United Methodist Church on February 24, for a memorial service to honor Eva's life. Visitation will be at 11:00 and the memorial service will begin at 1:00. Her ashes will be scattered on a later date in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in Eva's memory to Pine Log Methodist Church Tabernacle Fund, The Etowah Valley Humane Society, or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
