Mr. Eugene Stokes, age 74, of Rocky Face, GA, departed this life, Friday, December 30, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center. Eugene was born May 12, 1942 in Ellijay, GA, a son of the late Grady and Effie Ray Stokes. He was also preceded in death by his wife Racheal Christine Stokes, brothers, Edward Bo Stokes, Lamar Cotton Stokes, Jimmy Lee Stokes, sisters, Ora Robertson, Dorothy Thacker, stepdaughter, Norma Jean.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Angela Stokes, Robert Gerald Stokes, Jody Michael Stokes; sister, Evelyn Holt all of Dalton, GA; step daughter, Donna Jean of Macon, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Stokes, Joseph Stokes, Destiny Stokes, Angel Stokes, Hope Walston, Faith Walston; great grandchildren, Faelan Robert Long, Laney Stokes; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Eugene Stokes will be held Wednesday January 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Junior Williams officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
