Mrs. Esther Mae Pitner Roberts, age 85, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, November 1, 2013 at her home. Esther was born April 25, 1928 in Knoxville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Otha and Stella Law Pitner. She was retired from World Carpets.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Roberts, Sr., and her sons, Herbert Roberts, William Roberts, Jr., son-in-law, Michael McIntosh, brother, Jimmy Pitner and sisters, Betty Marshall and Jean Strickland.

She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Charles and Marshell Roberts of Chatsworth, GA, and Judy Roberts of Summerville, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Diane McIntosh of Dalton, GA, Jackie Butler of Tunnel Hill, GA, Tammy and Lenny McGill of Rancho Santa Fe, CA; brothers, Otha Pitner, Jr., Donald Pitner, Richard Pitner and Toby Pitner; sisters, Barbara Harris, Gladys Hancock, Dorothy Bliss, Judy Goforth and Brenda Moore; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Esther Mae Pitner Roberts will be private.. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
