Mrs. Essie Bishop Burn, 79, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Friday October 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 30, 1938 in Chatsworth, GA, a daughter of the late J.B. and Lucile Barton Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Burns, son, Terry Burns, grandson, Christopher Bright, brothers, R.L. Bishop, Duke Bishop, sister, Nadine Griffin.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Teresa Bright, Travis and Kathy Burns, Alan Burns all of Calhoun, GA, Ricky and Sonya Burns of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Bud Bishop of Florida, Gene Bishop of Dalton, GA; sister and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Wendell Chance of Calhoun, GA, Gene Griffin of Barney, GA; daughter-in-law, Terri Burns of Cohutta, GA, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Essie Bishop Burn will be held Monday  October 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Wiley Walden officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery with Mark Bright, Jody Bright, Jeremy Burns, Mark Franks, Blake Burns and Jared Burns serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
