Mrs. Esmeralda Serrato, age 53, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her residence. She was born April 16, 1970 in Orlando, Florida a daughter of the late German and Francisca Esquivel. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Serrato, sisters, Francisca Perez, Martina Lozoya, brother, Guadalupe Esquivel, grandson Derek Matteo McElhannon.

She is survived by her husband, Roberto Serrato of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Maria and Kyle McElhannon of Rock Springs, GA, Monica Serrato, Marlynn Serrato of Dalton, GA, Lupe Serrato of Calhoun, GA; sisters, Oralia Martinez, Maria Del Carmen Mendoza, Maria Garnica, Fela Esquivel; brothers, Reynaldo Esquivel, German Esquivel; grandchildren, Gianna R. Lopez, Landon A. Lopez, Scarlett V. McElhannon, Eddie Serrato, Ozzy Pintor, Arturo Jr. Pintor, Romeo Pintor, Isaiah Galvan, Roberto Pintor, Daisy Summers, Kobe Martinez; great grandchildren, Adilene Serrato, Jacob Summers; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday January 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Soloman Garcia officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
