Mrs. Emma Louise Grizzle, age 88, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, November 9, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born March 20, 1925 in Kokomo, Indiana, a daughter of the late Thorpe and Gail Somers Shinn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Grizzle, brothers, Elmer and Willard, sisters, Fern, Mamie and Ellen. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Dalton, GA. She also attended Rosswoods Adult Daycare and she was in two of their commercials. She worked as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care where she was voted caregiver of the year for the southeast region.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Julia miller of Nashville, TN, Carol and Steve Adams of Kokomo, IN, Rick and Debbie Grizzle of Sugar Valley, GA, Susan and Billy Smith of Chatsworth, GA, Juanita and Terry Epperson of Dalton, GA, Tim Grizzle of Dalton, GA; sister, Mary Lou of Indiana; seventeen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Emma Louise Grizzle will be held Wednesday November 13, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Larry Marlin and Dr. Herbert Viars officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Craig Langford, Nathan Jones, Ricky Grizzle, Matthew Bailey, Flavio Apodaca, Mitchell Cathey, Ralph Hensley, Jade Adams and Calvin Brown serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
