Little Miss Emily Colleen Buddin, age 9, of Resaca, Georgia departed this life Thursday, July 25, 2024, at AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun, Georgia.

Emily was born October 31, 2014, in Canton, Georgia.  Emily was a student at Tolbert Elementary School in Resaca, Georgia, where she would have been a fourth grader at the beginning of this school year.

Our Cowgirl is riding the trails of heaven.

Her heart is pure of gold with a love for Jesus, her family, friends, and all animals especially horses. She is fearless, independent, sensitive, compassionate, strong-willed, stubborn, and beautiful in every way. Her energy could light even the darkest room. Emily led people to Jesus through Good News Club at school. She inspired her entire community through her determination to be the best barrel racer she could be. Her sibling are her world and she mothered them with the best of intentions no matter their age. She was larger than life with a soft voice and an infectious soul lifting laugh. The loss of such a bright light has devastated so many. She will be remembered by many through her purple cowgirl hat and in every rainbow. Enjoy the ride cowgirl we'll see you soon.

She is survived by her parents, Rebecca Barnard Buddin (Tim Pharr) of Resaca, GA, Brian Buddin (Gennie Astin) of Ranger, GA; sisters, Harper Buddin of Resaca, GA, Nora Astin of Ranger, GA; brothers, Gage Sanders, Conner Pharr, Sterling Pharr all of Resaca, GA, and Carter Astin of Ranger, GA; grandparents, Chip and Kathleen Buddin of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barbara Barnard of Cape Girardeau, MO, Donald and Vickie Teems of Dawsonville, GA, Albert Doan of Cumming, GA; great-grandparents, Fred and Barbara Barnard of Jackson, MO; aunts and uncles, Kevin and Brittany Buddin of Norfolk, VA, Ashley and Stephen Teems of Dawsonville, GA, and C.J. and Kelli Brobst of Sterling, VA; several cousins and other relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Little Miss Emily Colleen Buddin will be held Thursday evening, August 1, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Resaca First Baptist Church, (3180 Battlefield Parkway NW Resaca, Georgia 30735) with Pastor, Reverend Harold Blackstock officiating.  The family will receive friends at Resaca First Baptist Church after 4:00 p.m. Thursday until the service hour. Her close family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Cherokee County Fire Department and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
