Mr. Emilio Christopher "Chris" Canales, age 40, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024. He was born August 9, 1984 in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father Emilio Canales Eguia, brother Francisco Emilio Poncho Canales, and his grandparents, John and Marie Harmon Strickland and Francisco Canals and Maria Refugio Eguia.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily Quintero; granddaughter, Arya Nova Quintero; mother, Debbie Canales all of Dalton, GA; aunts and uncles, Brenda and Bobby Overby of Tunnel Hill, GA, Kathy Strickland of Dalton, GA, Joyce Nelson of Sweetwater, TN, Wilma and Daniel Isaola of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, Lisa and Rick Walker of Spring Place, TN, Michael Strickland of Dalton, GA, Owen Strickland of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, Angelica Canales, Olivia Canales, Francis Canales, Dora Canales, Martha Rodriguez, Rosa Canales Maria Del Refugio Canales, and Sandra Canals all of Texas; a number of cousins.

Services will be held Friday November 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bobby Overby officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday. He will be laid to rest at the Ponders Colonial Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
