Mr. Elmer R. Drain, age 88, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday afternoon, February 14, 2022 at the local hospital. He was born January 17, 1934 in Ft. Payne, AL a son of the late Grady and Bertha Kilgore Drain. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Darlene Ledford, brother James Drain, sister Violet Odell, son-in-law Douglas Hammontree.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Drain of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, David Earl Drain of Dalton, GA, Russell Derrel and Tammy Drain of Cohutta, GA; daughter, Linda Karen Hammontree of Dalton, GA; sisters, Faye Quarles, Idella Blackwell of Rocky Face, GA; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 16, 2022. He will be laid to rest at the United Memorial Gardens.
