Mrs. Ella Sue Strupe Carlton, age 71, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday November 16, 2021 at her home. Ella was born August 18, 1950 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of the late George Thomas Strupe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Carlton.

Ella Sue obtained a Masters of Education at Austin Peay State University. She was a devoted teacher for 35 years. She enjoyed reading and ceramics. She was a loving Daughter, Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cousin.

Ella is survived by her mother, June Kelley Strupe of Calhoun, Georgia; sons, Brandon and Neisha Brophy of Calhoun, Georgia, William and Wendy Brophy of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughter, Shasta Dodd; grandchildren, Caden, Bentley, Presley, Paisley, Paxley, Hunter, McKinley. Brantley, Spencer and several great-grandchildren and cousin.

Graveside service to celebrate the life of Ella will be held, Tuesday November 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Father Mark Thomas officiating.
