Mr. Elijah Rodney "PoCo" or "Bubba" Brackett, age 19, of Bremen, Georgia, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, February 12, 2026, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia.
Bubba was born October 29, 2006, in Calhoun, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Michael Lumpkin and Danny Evans.
Bubba grew up in Dalton, Georgia, and attended Alabama Connection Academy. He had a true passion for anything with an engine and was known for his love of automobiles. Bubba worked as an auto mechanic and spent countless hours doing what he loved most—tinkering with old cars, turning wrenches, and bringing vehicles back to life. Whether he was under the hood, talking about cars, or helping someone fix a problem, Bubba was happiest when he was working with automobiles.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Brackett; sister, LouLou Ann Darlene Brackett; brother, Isaiah Brackett, all of Bremen, GA; father, Matthew "Matt" Brackett of Dalton, GA; grandparents, Nina Lumpkin of Bremen, GA, and Marcell Brackett of Chatsworth, GA; great-grandmother, JoAnn Brackett of Chatsworth, GA; aunts and uncles, Amanda and Ricky Martin of Pell City, AL, Scotty Tucker of Florida, Johathan Robertson of Kelco, TN, and Shawn Brackett and family of Dalton, GA; special friend he thought of as a brother, Skylar Dakota Stewart of Dalton, GA; his best friend and companion, service dog, Buddy; several other relatives, and many friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Elijah Rodney Brackett will be held Wednesday , February 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Brackett, Dakota Stewart, Skylar Crook, Dakota Crook, Logan Nix, and Sean Evans.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
