Eleanor Jan Rigney, age 71, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Jan was born December 5, 1944 in Kettering, Ohio, a daughter of the late Virgil Joseph and Eleanor Hill Green. She was also preceded in death by her sister,

Virginia Patricia Stoner. Jan proudly served her country in the United States

Marine Corp during Vietnam Conflict. She was employed at Shaw industries for 27 years.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Rigney of Dalton, GA; sister, Verna Joy Burgmeier, and Penni Ellen Green both of Charlston, SC ;nieces, Kristina Connolly, Angela Mclaughlin, both of Charleston, SC ,Tracy Curry of Kentucky; nephews, William Burgmeirer of Charleston SC, and Troy Stoner of Kentucky.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
