IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine
Harris
March 10, 1980 – January 25, 2026
Elaine Michelle Harris, age 45 of Dalton, Georgia, left this life and entered heaven Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Elaine was born March 10, 1980, in Jackson, TN. She was a 1998 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy and a 2002 graduate of Union University where she received her BSN degree. She was a member of Union's Kappa Delta Sorority.
As a Registered Nurse, Elaine devoted her career to caring for others, previously working at T. C. Thompson Children's Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, TN, Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, GA where she was a twenty-year employee, and at Cone Health in Greensboro, NC. Elaine's specialty was caring for premature infants who were in neonatal intensive care units. Countless children are in the world today in part because of Elaine's tender care.
Above all, Elaine's greatest joy and purpose in life was her family who she loved deeply and well. Her life centered around home, love, and togetherness. Her husband Jeff often said their love was love at first sight. She was especially devoted to their children, two daughters and a son. Elaine adopted Jeff's daughter soon after they married. Elaine and Jeff adopted their younger two children at birth, both now thirteen years old. She poured her heart into motherhood and made family the center of everything she did.
Elaine lived a life that was Christ-centered, and she had a loving spirit that touched everyone around her. She was a faithful member of Christ Church where she sang in the choir. Elaine loved church music.
In addition to Jeff, Elaine is survived by their daughter, Jasmine Edwards (Chris) and grandchildren, Danielle Childers, Jameson Childers and Harley Edwards, all of Fort Campbell, KY; son Seth Giles Harris and daughter Isabella Kathryn Harris of Dalton, GA; mother and step-father, Rheanne and Jim Burkett of Cleveland, TN; father and step-mother, Fred and Shearye Green of Mabelvale, AR; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lisa and Denny Roberts, Calhoun, GA; brother Lee Russell and wife Ann Marie Green, and their twins William and Madison, all of Greenville, SC; sister Kathryn Green of Atlanta, GA; stepsister and brother-in-law Laura and Billy Singletary and their daughter Ella of Cleveland, TN; stepsister Kristen Burkett of Philadelphia, PA; stepsister Suzanna Burkett of Portland, OR; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Amanda and Wayne Reece of Calhoun, GA; and aunt and uncle, Carla and Larry Sanderson of Jackson, TN.
