Mrs. Eileen Lawson, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, February 2, 2024 at the local hospital. She was born September 30, 1943 in Calhoun, Georgia, a daughter of the late Alvish and Vesta Sluder Hammontree. She was also preceded in death by her brother Reverend Jerry Hammontree.

She is survived by her husband, Evan Lawson of the residence; stepchildren, Johnny and Betty Lawson of Cohutta, GA, Martha Watkins of Chatsworth, GA, Denise McConnell of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Grady Patterson of Crandall, GA; grandchildren, Emily Hyde, Michael Watkins; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Eileen Lawson will be held Monday February 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor David Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
