Mr. Edwin Jerome "Jerry" Talley, age 70, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life, Monday March 27, 2017 at his home. Jerry was born March 18, 1947 in Calhoun, Georgia, a son of the late, Elroy Judson and OmaLee Stone Talley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Brannon Talley. Jerry worked 38 years for Norfolk Southern Railway in the Communication and Signal Department. He loved gardening, fishing and Bee keeping. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather.

Talley and would have celebrated forty-eight years of marriage on June 28, 2017; children, Kim (Keith) Durham of Lyerly, GA, Jeremy Talley of
Savanah, GA, Sarah (Frank III) Percy of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Stanfield, Wyatt Stanfield, Nathan Durham, Tara Durham, Brett Percy, Lily Kaye Percy, Cohen Percy, Jackson Percy, Annie Bea Percy; great-grandchildren, Katie White, Eddie White, Haley White, Brian Durham, Josh Durham; brother, Blaine and Donna Talley of Resaca, GA; sisters-in-law, Phyliss (Londell) Wigley of Calhoun, GA, Sharon Angland of Adairsville, GA, brothers-in-law, Trammell (Mary) Dooley of Sugar Valley, Bob (Etta Mae) Dooley of Dalton, GA, Ray Dooley of Resaca, GA; many nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Edwin Jerome "Jerry" Talley, will be
held, Thursday March 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from Ponders Calhoun Chapel, with Reverend Rick Langston officiating. He will be laid to rest at Hill City Baptist Church Cemetery with Matthew Stanfield, Wyatt Stanfield, Brett Percy, Nathan Durham, Kent Thomas, Bill Talley, George Hutchison and Dale Swafford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all employees and Norfolk Southern Railway, especially the employees of the Communication and Signal Department, Kailyn Thomas and Seth Talley.
Military graveside rites will be provided by American Legion Post 112 of
Dalton, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 6:00 p.m.until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday March 29, 2017 and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning until the service hour.
