IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Lee
Jackson
January 21, 1963 – January 19, 2026
Mr. Edward Lee Jackson, age 62 of Hixson, Tennessee, departed this life on January 19, 2026, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Known to many as "Ed," "Eddie," and as he proudly liked to be called, "Dad", "Pawpaw" and "Action Jackson," Ed was truly one of a kind. A 1981 graduate of Red Bank High School, Ed was a welder and electrician by trade and worked many dedicated years with Howell Construction, McGill Steel, and Stansell Electric Company.
Ed was a man who lived boldly, laughed often, and made no apologies for being exactly who he was. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and especially grilling for his family and friends—something he took great pride in. He also spent many hours doing what he loved, playing darts at the VFW Post 4848 on Amnicola Highway.
Above all, Ed lived life on his own terms. He didn't follow the crowd—he made his own way. He was unforgettable, original, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Lee Jackson; his grandparents, Robert and Margaret McBrien and Luther and Elois Jackson; and a very special friend, Brian Howell.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon McBrien Jackson of Soddy-Daisy, TN; son, Nathan and Samantha Jackson of Newport News, VA; daughters, Shannon Jackson of Columbia, TN, and Ashley and Kenny Bailey of Hixson, TN; grandchildren, Isabelle Simone, Haylee Smith, Gabriel Thompson, Victor Bailey, and Elena Jackson; the mother of his children, Michelle Harris of Newport News, VA; sister, Lisa Thrasher of Sale Creek, TN; aunt and uncle, Virginia Woods and Delbert McBrien, both of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Edward Lee Jackson will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Brainerd Chapel with Pastor Tommy Taylor officiating.
He will be laid to rest at Simpson-McBrien Cemetery with Nathan Jackson, Kenny Bailey, Jeff Oaks, Glenn Mulkey, Mitchell Rodriguez, Charles Boring, and Chris Harvey honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Brainerd Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ponders Brainerd Chapel, 4203 Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN. (423) 531-4002.
