Mrs. Edna Rethel Hawkins, 74, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday evening, June 24, 2020 at her home.  Rethel was born September 7, 1945 in Murray County, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Marcus "Mark" and Cora Belle Carroll Banks.

Rethel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by the love of her life, Clay Hawkins of the residence and would have celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary on July 1, 2020; son and daughter-in-law, David and Heather Lynn Hawkins; grandson, Kyle Hawkins all of Tunnel Hill, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Reed and Renita Banks of Charlottesville, VA, sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Kenneth Shelton of Dalton, GA; brother, Reece Banks of Dalton, GA; uncle, Robert Carroll of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a private gathering of her close family and no services will be held.
