Mrs. Edith Olear Pettyjohn, age 89, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, November 10, 2014 at her residence. Edith was born April 2, 1925 in Delano, Tennessee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Pettyjohn, daughters, Wanda Hicks, Shirley Keith, Linda Haynes, Darlene Weir, Frankie Janow, brothers, Edward and A.J. Hicks.

She is survived by her daughter, Margie Falkowski of Rocky Face, GA; fourteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Edith Olear Pettyjohn will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Andy Coker officiating. She will be laid to rest at the United Memorial Gardens with Scott Holt, Adam Holt, Jarod Holt, Neil Foskey, Greg Falkowski and Eddie Hicks serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
