Mrs. Edith Lucille Burger , age 92, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the Chatsworth Health Care Center.  Edith was born November 27, 1928 in Murray County, Georgia, a daughter of the late James Monroe and Tennie Kisselburg Bennett.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Burger, sisters, Eula Young, Redith Locke and Jean McCulley, and her brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Joann Bennett, Floyd and Julia Bennett, Robert and Jennie Lee Bennett, Howard Bennett and Frank Bennett.

Edith was retired from Shaw Industries and was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother and sisters-in-law, Cleve "J.R." and Ann Bennett of Dalton, GA, Nell Bennett of Calhoun, GA, and Anne Bennett of Chatsworth, GA; a very special niece, Grace Walker of Chatsworth, GA; several other nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Edith Lucille Burger will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Donald Young officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at West Hill Cemetery with Kevin Locke, Kenneth Locke, Gary Locke, Michael Gaddis, Scotty Gaddis and Tommy Gaddis honored to serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
