Mr. Edgar Melvin "Ed" Baggett 84 of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, July 19, 2018 at Gordon Health Care.   Ed was born April 25, 1934 in Murray County, Georgia, a son of the late Berry and Lela Jenkins Baggett.  Ed was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Arrington and Gladys Blake and brothers, Willard and James Baggett.

Ed was a hard worker and worked many years and was retired from the City of Dalton Street Department. He loved fishing, woodworking, camping, gardening and flowers.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and helping others.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Lucille Cross Baggett of Calhoun, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Charmaine Baggett of Pickens, SC, Douglas and Kathy Baggett of Ringgold, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Christine and John Bearden of Varnell, GA; grandchildren, Sean Baggett, Grant and Kate Baggett, Carol and Stanley Cheng, Colleen and John Jennings, Margie and Jamie Copeland, Tara Baggett and Zachary Baggett; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Lee and Doris Baggett of Ellijay, GA, Dayton Baggett of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ed Baggett will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Dewayne Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday and after 12:00 p.m. Noon Saturday until the service hour.
