Mr. Eddie Wayne Spurlock, age 58, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Advent Health Gordon in Calhoun, Georgia.

Eddie was born in Harlan, Kentucky, a son of the late Alexander and Anna Ingle Spurlock. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Alexander and Martha Ellen Spurlock, and Miller Eugene Ingle and Aline Brannon, as well as a sister-in-law, Lisa Spurlock.

Eddie was employed by Expressway Samples #2 for over ten years as a truck driver, where he proudly drove his beloved truck, "Big Red." He had a deep love for his work and cherished the friendships he built with his co-workers. Known for his warm heart and joyful spirit, Eddie had a gift for brightening everyone's day, especially when they were feeling down.

He loved the outdoors and found peace and happiness in nature. Above all, Eddie's greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also had a special fondness for the color purple, which reflected his vibrant and unique personality. Eddie made a lasting impression on everyone he met, always leaving behind kindness and laughter.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Dana "Star" McGahee Spurlock of the residence; children, Elizabeth and Richard "Ricky" Leffew, Ethan and Megan Rampley, Donovan and Dakota Rampley, David Rampley, Cody and Lydia Prather, Daniel Prather, Austin Prather, and Hannah Prather; brothers, Roger Spurlock, Herbert Spurlock, Tommy and Annie Spurlock; sisters, Tonya Spurlock, Kathy Spurlock, and Lisa Spurlock; fourteen beloved grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Eddie Wayne Spurlock will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend David Mathis and Reverend Michael Dean officiating. He will be laid to rest with his family at Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens. Ricky Leffew, Daniel Prather, Austin Prather, Christian Walker, Joshua Walker, and Dakota Walker will be honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
