Mr. Dwight Wayne Wood age 70, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday June 17, 2026 at the Advent Health Redmond surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1956 in Calhoun, Georgia, a son of the late Dee and Mildred Buffington Wood.

He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Joann and Bobby Spearman. He was a wonderful, loving husband father and grandfather. He loved to walk his baby dog Wilson and brag about his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Helen Pauline Wood of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jessica Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Wayne Lock; grandchildren, Jayde, Christopher, Ariana, Lamar, Emmalee and Griffin; several nieces, nephews and two favorite sisters-in-laws Brenda and Veronica.

A celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
