Mrs. Dovie Rigsby, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, October 5, 2015 at the local hospital. Dovie was born March 18, 1937 in Bartow County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Swin F. and Eloise Beavers King. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Evone Rigsby, Frances Coats, brothers, J.D. King, Gerald King, Tommy King, Swin Lee King.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James A. Rigsby, William Brent and Miranda Rigsby of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Rigsby and Don Crane of Rome, GA, Elaine and James Norton of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers, Everett King of Chatsworth, GA, Lavon King of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Nellie Rigsby of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Abernathy, Brandon Coats, Jason Coats, Micah Norton, Ruthie Rigsby, Allie Rigsby, seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dovie Rigsby will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at North Whitfield Baptist Church with Reverend Lillard Stringer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m., until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
