Mr. Douglas Charles Jones, 67, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his residence.

Douglas was born in Tokyo, Japan, a son of the late Herbert and Nettie Lucille Hodge Jones.  Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Leasa Ballew.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years Kathy Cross Jones of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tracy Jones; brothers and sister in law, Edward Jones of Villanow, Robert and Angie Jones of Marietta, Randy and Donna Jones of Chatsworth, and David Jones of Dalton; sister, JoAnn McAdams of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren and spouses, Monica and Mike Shaw of Fort Oglethorpe, Blake Thomas and Morgan Trost, Cody Stepp  and Amanda Jones of Dalton; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Douglas Jones will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Cofield officiating.

Douglas will be laid to rest at the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.  Blake Thomas, Jimmy Horn, Jacob Vincente, Dewayne Brewer, Larry Brewer, and Edward Jones will all be honored to serve as Pallbearers.

The Jones family will receive friends on Friday between the hours of  10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home.
