Mr. Douglas M. Cape, age 83, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2025, at Regency Park Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 20, 1942 in Henton, Georgia. He was also preceded in death by his father Waldo Emerson Cape, mother and stepfather Viola I. Davis Moore and Harley Moore, brother Rudyard Kipling Cape, sisters Maxine Cape Holcomb, Angelene Cape Schultze. He proudly served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Cape of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, April and Robert Bryson, Sabrina and Derrick Pearson of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Danielle and Jacob Chester, Tayler Pearson, Madison and Taylor Shirah, Caleb Bryson; great grandchildren, Pearson, Clarabeth, Baker; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Douglas M. Cape will be held Saturday March 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey and Reverend Wayne Cofield officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
