Mrs. Dorthy Louise Grimes, age 73, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the local hospital. She was born September 10, 1952, in Dalton, Georgia a daughter of the late William Orval and Lila Ruth Byers Mulkey. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-law, Paul Mulkey, Ben and Marie Mulkey, sister Sue Redwine, brother-in-law Donald Stone.

She is survived by her husband, James Whitey Grimes of the Residence; sons, Tory Grimes, Patrick Grimes of Dalton, GA; brother and sisters-in-law, Jack and Diane Mulkey of Gainesville, GA, Cheryl Mulkey of Dalton, GA; sister, Linda Stone of Dalton, GA; brother-in-law, Robert Redwine of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Zach Coleman, Bailey Grimes; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorthy Louise Grimes will be held Tuesday January 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charlie Hamm officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday. Interment will follow in the Cove Church Cemetery.
