Mrs. Dorothy Janelle Godfrey Welch age 85 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday May 26, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 18, 1933 in Bartow County, GA a daughter of the late James Howard and Minnie Mauldin Godfrey. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Hartsfield, brothers, David Godfrey, James Godfrey, William Alan Godfrey.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beverly Godfrey of Chatsworth, GA; sister, Belvie Chastain of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews,

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Janelle Godfrey Welch will be held Wednesday May 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
