Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Jackson Spearman, age 86, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Thursday January 16, 2014 at Calhoun Health Care surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born September 27, 1927, in Gordon County, Georgia, a Daughter of the late Lewis and Patsy Evans Jackson. She was preceded in death by husband William Spearman and a son Frankie Spearman. Dorothy was retired from the United States Postal Service and served as the Post Master in Sugar Valley with twenty-eight years of service.

She is survived by daughters and sons in law, Darlene and Lamar Moorehead of Calhoun, GA Dottie and Kenneth Crawford of Calhoun, GA, , and daughter in law Gayle Spearman also of Calhoun. Dorothy had three grandchildren, Brandi Moorehead Owczarz, Jeremy and Heather Moorehead and Josh and Brandi Freeman, six great grandchildren, Draik, Regan, George, Will, Eli, and Riley. She also had several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Jackson Spearman will be held Sunday January 19, 2014, at 3:00 P.M. at Fain Cemetery with Reverend Joe Hall officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband with Kenneth Crawford, Jeremy Moorehead, Josh Freeman, Ricky Silvers, Boyd Spearman and Jackie Blalock serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Moorehead, David Blalock, Tony Reece and Bobbie Banks. The family will receive friends at the Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.
